Arada Developments LLC, commonly known as Arada, is one of the fastest-growing real estate developers in the United Arab Emirates. Founded in 2017 by Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi and Prince Khaled bin Al Waleed bin Talal Al Saud, the company focuses on creating comprehensive residential and mixed-use communities, primarily in Sharjah, later expanding its presence to Dubai.

From the very beginning, Arada’s vision has been not merely to build individual buildings but to develop entire districts that seamlessly integrate homes, recreation areas, parks, retail zones, and community spaces. Its flagship project, Aljada, is a large-scale urban development in Sharjah covering around 24 million square feet (approximately 2.2 million square meters), combining residential, commercial, and entertainment spaces. Another key project, Masaar, is an eco-community inspired by a “forest lifestyle,” offering lush greenery, spacious plots for villas and townhouses, and a focus on sustainability and high-quality living environments.

Arada distinguishes itself through a commitment to quality and accessibility. The company’s mission is to deliver homes that combine modern technologies, sustainable construction, and family-friendly infrastructure. For example, Arada was the first developer in Sharjah to introduce “smart home” systems in all apartments within one of its projects.

The company’s growth has been remarkable: in 2021, housing sales increased by 38%, reaching AED 2.41 billion, with 2,488 homes sold. By 2024, Arada reported sales of AED 7.02 billion, reflecting its strong market momentum. The developer made its debut on the Fortune 500 Arabia list, ranking 193rd overall and fourth among UAE developers by revenue in 2022.

Arada operates as a private company jointly owned by Basma Group (via Sheikh Sultan) and KBW Investments (via Prince Khaled), with ownership stakes of roughly 40% and 60%, respectively. The leadership emphasizes a customer-centric and long-term approach to asset management rather than short-term sales — focusing on community building, service quality, and property value growth.

Initially, Arada targeted affordable and mid-range housing markets in Sharjah, but it has since expanded into the premium segment, especially through high-end developments in Dubai such as Jouri Hills at Jumeirah Golf Estates and branded projects on Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Harbour.

A key competitive advantage of Arada lies in its fully integrated development approach: the company manages urban planning, landscape architecture, infrastructure, interior design, and smart home technologies — all with the goal of creating holistic environments where residents can live, work, and relax comfortably. Sustainability is another central pillar of its brand, with initiatives such as cooler outdoor spaces, extensive green areas, and pedestrian- and bicycle-friendly layouts.

Arada has also earned recognition for its corporate culture. In 2022, it was named one of the Best Workplaces in the UAE by Great Place to Work®. The company introduced a 4.5-day workweek and offers free memberships to its Wellfit fitness clubs — another brand under the Arada umbrella.

As of late 2023, Arada’s development pipeline comprised approximately 3.6 million square meters of land, with over 30,000 residential units planned, more than 14,000 launched for sale, and over 13,000 already sold. In April 2024, the company awarded construction contracts worth AED 615 million for the fourth phase of the Masaar project, covering 565 new homes — further evidence of its consistent project delivery and strong operational performance.

Looking ahead, Arada plans to continue expanding beyond Sharjah and even beyond the UAE, signaling growing ambitions and international aspirations.
